Who Knew...

Who knew eating Tyler's monkey toes was so funny? Andy and Tyler were playing last night and Tyler started laughing. I caught some of it on tape.

It's So Tiring...

Yesterday Tyler laughed out loud for the first time. I thought that maybe I heard it wrong but then last night he did it about 3 more times. He is turning into such a little boy, it's so much fun to see all of these new changes. I set up his high chair yesterday. It is so big for him, but he is able to sit up in it! Today I am going to set up his exercise chair that he can stand in. He seems excited to stand up whenever we lift him and pretend he is walking. But, all of this is very hard work for him, as you can see...

Go Dodgers...

Well, we took Tyler to his very first Dodger game at Coors Field in Denver. The Dodgers got slaughtered! Oh well. We had so much fun!

Tyler and I in our Dodger gear!

Mmmm...Is this what they serve at the game? Tyler loves eating his fingers.

Our first family Dodger picture! How cute...

Have Your Cake...

And eat it too... That's just what I did with Tyler the other day. We hung out and he watched his Mommy with two of three of her favorite things: ice cream and Mr. T. The only thing missing from this picture is Andy (he was taking the picture). We were talking about some very important things. I was telling him all about ice cream! Mmmmmm....

Tyler and I "chatting" about life over some left over birthday ice cream cake. Yummy!

All Smiles...

Tyler was all smiles today. Here is my first attempt at a short movie of Mr. T (sorry it's sideways). Ignore my voice, but listen for his coos at the end. So cute!

What a Bumbo...

I took out the Bumbo seat yesterday from the basement and thought it might be time to try it out. Tyler's neck has been strong from the get go, but I wondered if he could support himself while sitting in his funny green chair. He did a great job and hung out with his Mommy and Daddy this morning for about 20 minutes in the seat! Tyler has been really into grasping for toys and holding things in his hands, mainly because he doesn't know how to let go once he has hold of something. This morning he was playing with Mr. Turtle.

"So, when is the next rodeo?"

"This is Mr. Turtle."

"What are you looking at Mr. Turtle?"

Born to be Cute...

Today Mr. T wore his biker outfit and was looking so adorable. Tyler is able to sit up and hold his head up now when Daddy pulls on his arms. What a big boy! He enjoys his Baby Einstein mat more than ever now and is even trying to grab the toys that hang down from it! He is such a happy baby and loves showing off his smile!

I love my "Born to be Cute" biker outfit.

See, I can sit up now...kind of.

I want that turtle! I want that fish! Just... can't... reach... far... enough.

Last Day in the Park...

Yesterday, Steve and Barb took me into Yellowstone Park to learn how to fly fish. It was so much fun and I totally understand why they love to be here to fish. I caught my first fish in the Firehole River. We then went on a drive through the north end of the park and we saw 2 bears!

Yes, that is the road. This bear was so close!

Ride 'um Coyboy...

Today we went into Idaho and went horseback riding. My horse was named Bear and Andy's was Beaver. We had a beautiful ride through the back country and up a mountain. The view was great and the wildflowers were in full bloom. We took a picture at Henry's Fork, a famous fly fishing spot along the Snake River.

"Dixie" and "Lane" ready for the horseback ride.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh my...

Ok, so no lions or tigers but bears for sure. We visited the grizzly and wolf center in West Yellowstone and saw some huge bears!

This huge grizzly bear, Sam, looks like a bear from Country Bear Jamboree. He weighs about 940 pounds!

4th of July...

So the 4th was a very full day. We didn't expect to have a rodeo on the fourth! So we had a small dilemma...what outfit do we put on "Duke" (Tyler's rodeo name)? So we started the day with the rodeo outfit. I didn't even have time to take a picture because he ended up pooping all over his pants. So during the rodeo, he had to wear an outfit I had in the diaper bag. Bummer... The rodeo turned out to be so fun! There were girls barrel racing and cowboys with bucking broncos. Later in the evening, we had fun with fireworks back at the Lafflam house and Tyler wore his 4ht of July outfit. He pretty much slept through the days events. Maybe next year he will enjoy this more...

Yellowstone Safari...

Today we started our family vacation. We went into Yellowstone National Park on search of some animals and some good fishing streams. We drove through the park from 9:00 a.m. and returned home at around 5:30 (we didn't even see 1/10th of the park yet). I was amazed at the natural wonders and beauty here. It is stunning! After entering the gates of Yellowstone, we saw the famous bald eagle mommy and her baby in the nest trying to fly. The birds are enormous! All the animals look like they are on steroids. We ended up seeing several bison, elk, chipmunks, birds, and coyote. Tomorrow is the rodeo in Ennis.

Tyler and Dad sleeping this morning.

Here we go...

A yearling (baby elk) walking through the meadow.

We saw so many bison (buffalo) today. They were grazing all over the park. These huge animals are amazing!

We went to Old Faithful Geyser and had lunch there. An amazing sight to see in person!

One year...

We have officially been in our house for one year now. We moved in on June 28, 2007 and have been so happy here. We moved to wonderful Fort Collins, bought a house, met some really wonderful friends, found great jobs, and had a baby all in one year! I have never been so happy! Here are some things that truly make me smile...

Our happy little boy, Tyler.

My 2 boys enjoying some father-son time. So cute!

Our 2 girls, Lily and Olive, the cutest "bad dogs" you have ever seen!
